I really enjoy canning! One of my favorite things to can are the berries that we pick throughout the summertime. The sweet smell of fresh berries cooking is so wonderfully pleasant. The berries are then preserved in beautiful jars to brighten the most dreary winter days. The stitch pattern used in this hat reminded me of those beautiful, ripe berries in little baskets. Now you can knit yourself a brightly colored hat to chase away those dreary winter days as a reminder that summer is just around the corner.

Materials

Difficulty: 3 out of 5 stars.

NOTE ON YARN: Malabrigo Washted is listed as a Worsted weight but the skein that I had knitted up closer to a DK weight instead. That being said, the gauge I got was 24 sts and 32 rows=4 inches on US 7. If you can get gauge with a DK or Worsted weight yarn then that will probably be fine. Please make sure that you get gauge or your hat most likely won’t fit.
