The pattern is based on a bedcover blanket in the Finnish National Museum’s collection. The book Virkattuja vuodepeitteitä (Mary Olki, 1966) reads: ”The bedcover was made from white cotton thread and fabric in 1896 by crafts teacher Berta Nordgren”. A photo of the lace has also been published in the book Uusia ja vanhoja virkkuupitsejä (Olki, 1950).
