I designed this scarf for my sister-in-law, Bessy, who dreams of Florida, warm weather, and summer days, but I took the photos in the backyard of my 1877 farmhouse in Vermont during winter! Bessy found the yarn on the internet and posted a photo of it on her Facebook timeline, so I ordered a skein and put it in my stash.

When I finally got around to knitting up a scarf with this yarn, I went to look up the details and found that the color was no longer available on the Expression Fiber Arts website, although I did find another pink and grey color called “Pink Elephant.” Of course this scarf can be knit in any hand-painted colorway, as well as in solids, semi-solids, tweeds, and self-striping yarns. The lace pattern is simple enough that it will not fight with even complex colorways.

So go order a skein of Pink Elephant or another color that catches your eye at www.expressionfiberarts.com, or go shopping in your stash!

Scarf is started from the center and worked out toward the ends.
