Aptly named, Best Beret is simply the perfect beret pattern. The beautifully dense gauge in this pattern creates a felt-like fabric, which makes for a beret that holds its shape and can be styled exactly how you like. Tag me on instagram @jamesnwatts and hashtag your creations #BestBeret.

Best Beret comes in two sizes:
Adult Small- to fit heads less than 22.5”
Adult Large- to fit heads larger than 22.5”

There are two style options:
Classic Silhouette- a smaller, more traditional beret silhouette with a finished diameter of about 11 inches.
Dramatic Silhouette- a larger, overstated beret silhouette with a finished diameter of about 12 inches.

There are two finishing options:
Single Stalk- traditional single stalk with one icord at top of beret
Double Stalk- a more whimsical look with two icords growing from the top of the beret

All sizes, styles, and finishes can be used in any combination together.

I recommend Harrisville Highland, but many of my wonderful test knitters found success with other yarns. Be aware that yarn choice can affect your gauge, check your row gauge as well as your stitch gauge. Worsted weight, rustic, woolen spun yarns work best in this pattern.

The yardage for my samples were as follows:
-110 yards for the pink beret knit with the Classic Silhouette
-170 yards for the blue beret knit with the Dramatic Silhouette
