The Bestie Socks are perfect for making pairs of socks two at a time for you and your besties. These socks are the ultimate combination of all my favorite sock techniques: two-at-a-time, toe-up, roomy gusset, short row heel with ribbed heel flap, and of course the best part, knit with a double stranded sock blank that I didn’t even need to wind up! Featuring lots of smooth Stockinette stitch to show off striping, speckled, or variegated colorways for all of that “just one more row” sock knitting!

Materials:
Yarn: one sock blank of Silver Pennies Yarn Co Jumbuck Double Sock, colorway One of a Kind Striping (75/25 Superwash Merino/Nylon; 463 yds/100g) used for sample. Or approximately 330 (370, 450) yds/300 (340, 415) of a fingering weight, multi-plied, superwash/nylon blend sock yarn.

Jumbuck Double Sock is especially for two-at-a-time sock knitting! This springy, squishy, and smooth 4-ply fingering weight yarn is made of Superwash Merino and Nylon. Jumbuck Double Sock is made with two strands knitted together at the same time to create a double stranded sock blank. Just knit directly from the blank, two socks at a time! Dyed in small batches of One of A Kind striping and gradient colorways, you’ll want to cast on a pair of new socks right away!

Needles: US size 1/2.25 mm 40” or 60” circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 32 sts/46 rows per 4”/10 cm in St. st. in the round, blocked.

Notions: progress keepers (or removable stitch markers), yarn needle, sock blockers.

Sizes:
Adult Small, (Medium, Large): 7 (8, 9)”/18 (20, 23) cm foot circumference.
Recommended to fit with negative ease: 0.5 to 1”/1 to 3 cm of negative ease in circumference. Determine your size by measuring the widest part of the foot, adjust this measurement for negative ease of sock.

Pattern Notes: Socks are worked two at a time (Sock A and B), from the toe up, using Judy’s Magic Cast On for Toe-Up Socks, a gusset and heel flap, and elastic bind-off. Throughout the pattern the Magic Loop method is used, therefore the needles will be referred to as Front Needle (FN) and Back Needle (BN). The sample socks are size S.

Necessary Skills: knit and purl, working increases and decreases, working short rows, knitting in the round on magic loop.
