Betsy is a very traditional unisex cardigan.

Betsy is knit top down in one piece. Sleeves can be worked in the round seamlessly, or worked flat and seamed.

It is based on the old ‘bottom up’ seamed baby knits.

Short rows have been added at the neck to raise the back and make the cardigan a better fit. I used German short rows, but use any short row, you are comfortable with.

The pattern uses lifted increases, but you can always use your preferred method.

The button bands, neck and cuffs are knit in garter stitch to give the cardigan a modern feel.
