I first started making these booties after Christine Bourquin dictated her instructions to threads magazine issue 22 in 1989, In fact, I purchased my very first DPNs because I was intrigued by her letter. Since that time I have also discovered the same pattern in Hilde Fuchs “Babies Fashions in Wool” from 1948. I have made several pattern improvements; It’s not really the same pattern anymore. My pattern solves the holes issue at the top of the toe box short rows without a messy (IMO) M1, It has a (very) slightly less rectangular sole, and a ribbed cuff.
