This trio is a set of neckwear knitted in conventional Garter stitch with a variety of Distitch selvedges. They all have a small insert of three coloured squares worked in Intarsia.

The patterns were designed to demonstrate Distitch selvedge and is taken from Distitch, a book about this innovative principle of knitting. Distitch provides a very neat, clear and decorative edge, the trio is presented in this video. More about Distitch knitting can be found on website https://assiabrill.com/

Variety of Distitch selvedges used:
slip knit DS selvedge – closed
slip knit DS selvedge – open
slip purl DS selvedge – open

This design shows the beauty of the natural colours in the fleece of the glorious British breed: Bluefaced Leicester. Descended from a longwool sheep breed that was first bred in England in the 18th century, it is now raised worldwide. Garments knitted with this yarn are soft and warm.

You can substitute this yarn with any bulky soft yarn in natural or bright colours.
