It’s half kerchief, half cowl! The shallow end of this cowl is deeper compared to the Peak Kerchief design, so it’s not quite the same earwarmer/neckwarmer combination as it would be if that connection were less substantial and more kerchief-reminiscent.
This easy but fine-knit cowl is made from soft sockweight yarn, and the simple design lends itself well to fancy hand-dyed and self-striping colorways. (It would work well with handspun, too!) It takes only half a skein of the 440-yard sock yarns to knit this project.
Tentatively, this could be an any-gauge project; it’s only been tested in sock yarn, but should work in sport to worsted, too.
