Big Bend National Park on the border of Texas and Mexico is most definitely on my bucket list to visit! The gorgeous Rio Grande river flows through canyons and valleys in this park that marries desert with lush green landscape. When I saw photos of Santa Elena Canyon, I knew I had to create a hat and a color inspired by those images.

This hat features winding, but non-interlocking cables like the river winds through the canyon. The color I dyed for this month is called “Santa Elena Canyon” and it’s on a super squishy DK weight 100% Rambouillet wool yarn. The hat is charted and written up until the decrease section and the instructions are finished with just written instructions for the decreases. The cap fits like a beanie and is available in 3 sizes. Happy knitting!
