Big Mountains call for a hat, preferably made from big yarn! This quick knit features some simple graphic stranded work and a slouchy crown, topped with a pompom.

The finished hat is 18¾ (21¼, 24)”/ 46.5 (53.5, 60)cm around and 8¼ (9¼, 10¼)”/ 21 (23.5, 26)cm deep, intended to fit child/teenager, adults and large adult heads.

Materials:
Polka Dot Sheep Big Mountain, 80% merino/ 20% nylon; 76y/ 69m; 3.5oz/ 100g:
• ½ (½, ¾) skein in Beargrass (MC),
• ¼ (1/3, 1/3) skein Scenic Byway (CC1), and,
• 1 skein Festive (CC2).

Tools:
US 11 (8mm) 16”/40cm circular and double-pointed needles or needle size necessary to obtain gauge. US 10 (6mm) 16”/40cm circular, or 2 sizes smaller than gauge needle; stitch marker; tapestry needle, pompom maker.

12 sts/16 rnds over 4”/10cm in stockinette
