This is an easy weekend knit, and a fun way to use up any lace-weight silk/mohair you might have lying around. Please don’t be put off by the needle sizes! The main knit is on the US11’s, but an additional needle is held along side during the cast-on phase! You choose the size as long as it is a little smaller than the size 11. SInce you need a dpn or a cable needle, the dpn can be used for the cast-on part as well. It’s a fun cowl with just enough pattern to keep it interesting, and the size (circumference and width) can be adjusted if you want to buy an additional skein of the Schoppel-Wolle Baby Alpaka or Alpaka Queen, which is its replacement. Gauge is pretty unimportant. I almost always use 2 needles held together to cast on--a trick my mother and her mother before her have always used.
