Big Tulips is a colour-block, cosy fit, knitted beanie pattern, own design by Blue Balloon Atelier.
Very satisfying and frugal pattern. It can be made rather quickly and it uses very little yarn, often scraps from much bigger projects.
Although the project is based on fair-isle technique, the tulips can be done with intarsia as well.
Instructions are based on flat knitting, using 2 needles.
Optionally you can knit the beanie in round using double pointed needles or circular needles, if preferred.

It uses 5 yarn colours.

Beanie in pictures is modelled on a head with circumference of 56cm/ 22inch.

Size of the finished beanie approx: 26 x 22.5 cm/101⁄4 x 9 inch
with a negative ease approx: 6 cm/ 2.5 inch, for a snug fit.

Yarns used for the project
Deramores Chunky Acrylic ball/skein size —>100g/3.5oz - 80m/87yds;
Drops Snow 100% wool ball/skein size —>50g/1.8oz - 50m/55yds

NOTE: Any other chunky/bulky yarn can be used, as long as yarn specifications are similar to yarn used for the Big Tulips beanie. Please, do not feel restricted in your lovely choices.
