Bigfooting Around Socks
Bigfooting Around is the May 2025 installment of Mr Stitch’s Sock Club—a simple, two-color sock pattern that uses mosaic knitting (slipped stitches) to create a bold, striped look. It’s knit cuff down in fingering weight yarn and is beginner friendly, with no stranded colorwork or floats to manage.
The standout feature is the diamond heel construction. This version of a heel flap and gusset shifts the shaping to the sole of the foot, rather than the sides, which creates a bit of arch support and a comfortably snug fit.
The pattern is graded for five sizes, fitting foot circumferences from 6.5” to 10.5” (16.5 to 26.5 cm), and includes both written and charted instructions.
