This is a crochet pattern to make your very own little Bill Bailey!!

Enjoy a little bit of calm with your very own tribute to comedian, actor, musician, dancer, dog lover, bird spotter, happiness expert and all-round eierlegende wollmilchsau of entertainment, the lovely legend that is Bill Bailey.

This pattern combines crochet and needle felting but if you haven’t needle felted before, don‘t worry - it is easy peasy and this is a fun way to introduce yourself to it.

Materials

Flesh pink DK yarn – Rico Ricorumi DK – 023 Nude
White DK yarn – Sirdar Happy Cotton DK – 762 Shower
Light grey wool roving – Pure Wool Hut – light grey mix
Stuffing – Phoenix Fibres Recycled Polyester Craft Filling

You will need tiny amounts of the following (see notes below):
Gold DK yarn – Ricorumi Lamé – 002 Gold (a tiny bit for the halo)
Medium grey wool roving (a tiny bit for the eyebrows)
Black wool roving (a tiny bit for the mouth)
Flesh pink wool roving (a tiny bit for the mouth)

For the eyes:

White felt
Light pink felt
Blue acrylic paint
Black acrylic paint
White acrylic paint
Small paintbrush (plus a 5mm allen key as a stamper if this is easier than painting a circle)
Tacky PVA glue

Tools:

3.5mm crochet hook
Small needle felting needle
Tweezers & pins (optional but useful when placing the eyes)
Sewing needle
Knitters needle (for weaving in ends etc)
Scissors

The above materials are chosen for their sustainability credentials – you can use any brand of DK
yarn of course. The yarns (except for the halo) are cotton which is biodegradable, while the stuffing
is recycled from plastic bottles. If you prefer a fully biodegradable Bill you can use wool stuffing instead.

I’ve specified which materials you only need a tiny bit of in case you have crafty people you might be able to tap up for little bits rather than buy more than you need. For the flesh pink, medium
grey and black bits of wool roving you could just deconstruct small amounts of yarn in the appropriate colour!
