Billy Bilby, is a native Australian animal on the endangered species list and being adopted by Australians as their own Easter Bunny.
My Billy Bilby stands 12 inches high to the top of his ears, is knitted flat on 3mm needle using DK yarns.

The Bilby or Rabbit – Eared Bandicoot is a native of Australia. He is being adopted as Australia’s Easter Bunny.

He is called Yuwaalaraay by Aboriginals and is on the endangered animal list.
The Lesser Bilby is already believed to be extinct.

They measure 29 – 55cm in length.

Bilbies are omnivorous. They eat such yummy things as seeds, spiders, larvae, worm’s, snails, bulbs, fruit and fungi.

Bilbies are marsupials, and carry their young in the pouch for about 75 days.

They have very poor eyesight and rely on their hearing and sense of smell, and are mainly nocturnal.
And they are really cute!
