THIS IS A PDF PATTERN AND NOT A PHYSICAL ITEM.

I am so excited to introduce my first ever crochet pattern! Say hello to the Binary Code scarf! The scarf is made up of 48 individual motifs that are joined together to spell out the word ‘Binary’. It is highly customisable if you wish to change the word translated into code and the pattern contains a section on how best to make those modifications.

This is a pattern designed for ADVANCED BEGINNER and INTERMEDIATE crocheter’s.

This is also a colour work project, but you will only change colours at the end of a row.

Gauge:
Gauge is not particularly important for this pattern, as long as your tension is consistent, but you may end up with a slightly different size Scarf. I recommend doing a gauge swatch, but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t. I used Double Crochets for the gauge swatch as they make up the majority of the pattern.

Gauge: 10cm x 10cm = 6 rows x 13 DC stitches

You will need:

  • 5mm crochet hook
  • Yarn colour 1: 500-600m aran weight yarn (weight 4)
  • Yarn colour 2: 500-600m aran weight yarn (weight 4)
  • yarn/tapestry needle
  • measuring tape
  • scissors/thread snips
  • stitch markers (optional)
  • blocking boards (optional)
  • pins ( optional).

This pattern has been tested by a group of amazingly talented testers to ensure the format is accessible and the pattern is easy to understand. However, if you are confused by anything in the pattern please drop me a message through my Instagram (@beexbeth).

Size of finished Scarf: This is an oversized Scarf, approximately 300cm x 38cm - though this can be modified by using a different size hook and yarn.
Terms: This pattern is written in US Crochet terms

If you purchase this pattern and enjoy it, please consider leaving me a review and sending me a photo of your finished scarf. I love seeing all your creations and it really helps me out as a designer.

Happy making!!
