Birdy Christmas Cards
by Val Cox
I think knitted Christmas cards are super cute. With this pattern you can mix and match different birds.. penguin, owl and robin… with sweaters hats and scarves to make lot of completely unique cards. I’ve been making a family of 7 to give out for our ‘girls’ Christmas get together this year.
Full instructions, with lots of photos, for how to assemble your finished cards are included in the pattern. Only uses knit, purl and increasing/ decreasing stitches.
I made mine with double knit (worsted) weight wool, which gives birds about 9cm (3.5 inches) wide by 7cm (2.8 inches) tall. You can use different wool weights to make them bigger or smaller.
I mounted mine on card blanks that are 15cm (6 inches) square.
