Birgitte Sweater is a beautiful sweater with a classic look. The design is wide and short, featuring a simple cable pattern.

Birgitte Sweater is knitted from the top down. Stitches are cast on using a provisional cast on method. First, you knit the upper part of the back piece, then you work the shoulders of the front piece one at a time while shaping the neckline. After that, the front pieces are joined. Below the armhole, the front and back pieces are united, and you continue knitting in the round until the finishing. The stitches for the sleeves are picked up directly in the armhole. The sweater is finished with twisted ribbing and an Italian bind-off.
