Birlin-beret is worked in the round from the brim up. The pattern has instructions for a beanie and a beret, knit either one.

Beanie
For size Adult S there are two options, a tighter or looser fit.

Yarn

40-60 g of fingering weight yarn, around 400 m (437.5 yds) per 100 g. The sample (size ) was knitted with Shalimar Yarns BreLathless (75% Merino, 15% Cashmere, 10% Silk, 384 m/ 420 yds per 100 g) in colourway Water’s Edge and used 55 g. Note that this is the old base which has more yardage than the new base.

Needles & notions

2.75 mm/ US 2 and 3.25 mm/ US 3 (80 cm/ 32 inches or longer for magic loop) circular needle, or set of DPNs or size to obtain gauge
markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends
