This stunning shawl was knitted with both fingering and sport weight yarns. It is knitted flat on either size 6 32-inch circulars (fingering) or size 7’s (sport). This design can also be knitted in DK for the colder months. This is a very simple (yet exquisite!) shawl pattern. After the first 13 rows, just 2 rows are repeated until the ruffle at the end. A great (and beautiful!) mindless knit. The pink shawl was my 40th birthday present to myself and features one of the 3 bind-off’s offered in the pattern: the loopy i-cord bobble bind off. The other two bind-off’s that are offered are: an i-cord bind off and a picot bind off. This simple design is meant to be very adaptable for any yarn weight or size. With the picot bind off, and fingering weight, you can pull it off as a one skein wonder (400+ yds). For the i-cord and the loopy i-cord bobble bind off’s you will need a second skein for both fingering and sport weight. (The pink shawl, featured, took just over 1 1/2 skeins of Yarnitude Sassy Sport (approximately 500 yds). The gauge for fingering is 7 sts per inch and for sport weight it is 6 sts per inch. For the fingering version you will need: up to 2 skeins of Yarnitude Sassy Sock, size 6 32-inch circular needles, a cable needle, approximately 800 size 8 glass beads (optional), a stranding needle, and a darning needle. For sport weight, you will need: 2 skeins of Yarnitude Sassy Sport (328 yds each), size 7 32-inch circular needles, a cable needle, a stranding needle & 800+ beads (optional), and a darning needle. A DPN was also used for the bind off’s, in the corresponding sizes for weights.
