These socks are meant to evoke the sweet and simple pleasures of
childhood - rolling down a grassy hill, holding hands and singing in
a circle, learning to sew, playing tea party with friends and stuffed
animals. The Bits and Bobs Socks are easy to memorize and have the perfect amount of colorwork for a beginner, but are still interesting enough for more advanced knitters. Knit them up with minis, two colors, or leftovers you’ve been collecting in your stash. Add a stripe or two a day, and you’ll have a pair of socks in no time!

YARN

Woolberry Berry Sock Mini Skein (80% Superwash Merino /
20% Nylon); 80 yds OR any fingering weight yarn scraps or minis.

Approximately 2 (4, 4, 5, 5) grams of fingering weight yarn is used
per stripe.

This pattern uses ten 20g mini skeins for sizes 1, 2, and 3. If knitting
size 4 or 5 with all minis, you may need twelve to thirteen depending on the length of your foot - there may not be enough yardage in each mini to repeat the same colorway twice. While the pattern is written for minis, please don’t feel limited! These socks would look beautiful in two colors or with one color for cuff, heel, and toe, and yarn leftovers for the rest of the sock. I’ve been dreaming up a pair using a solid skein paired with mohair on every other stripe!

GAUGE

OPTIONAL 9” Size US 1.5 (2.5 mm) Circular Needles or

use a US 1.5 (2.5 mm) needle to prevent sock from being too tight.
