A child can never have too many hats. This pattern has instructions for five different sizes in two different yarn weights and gauges for maximum customization. Whether you are looking for a heavy winter hat for your preschooler or a light spring covering for a newborn, this hat has something for you.

This hat was designed as a challenge to myself. I wanted to see if I could create an earflap hat that only has two ends to weave in, which this hat has! This is the ideal hat for those who hate finishing. The earflap ties help keep the hat on while the shaping away from the face and the loose back help even the most hat-picky child forget they have something on their head.

Gauge is critical to this hat so be sure to swatch!
