Black Cat Bookmark
This black cat bookmark crochet pattern is an intermediate pattern that teaches you to make the cutest little black cat bookmark. The instructions use a solid color, but you’re welcome to use a variety of colors to match all of the adorable cats in your life!
This pattern can also be found on my website (comicsamscrafts.com), Etsy, and Ribblr.
The cat is made like an amigurumi, and then a chain string and tassel are added to make it a bookmark.
There really is no gauge to this pattern, but the finished cat is about 3/4 inch tall and the string is about 10 inches long. The string size is entirely customizable, so you can make it as long or short as you want.
This pattern requires knowledge of magic loops, chaining, and single crochet stitches. It also uses two extended double crochet stitches, but there is an explanation in the pattern. It is worked in continuous rounds. Working with crochet thread and small hooks can be difficult for beginners, so keep that in mind if you’re new to using crochet thread.
You’ll need a 2mm crochet hook and about 10 yards of black size 10 crochet thread (or whatever color you make the cat), 1 yard of white size 10 crochet thread, and 1 yard of red size 10 crochet thread. You’ll also need a needle (I use a sharp embroidery needle, not a yarn needle) to weave the ends in, poly-fil or other stuffing to fill the cat, and scissors.
Feel free to sell finished items made with this pattern as long as you credit me as the designer and link back to my shop :)
