Enjoy this lovely free pattern for an asymmetrical crescent shawl with interesting texture created by puff stitches.

Use any yarn you have in your stash with the hook that goes with it, only your imagination is the limit.

The pattern comes with both instructions and a chart, so you can be as comfortable as possible while learning the first rows of the repetitive pattern. After you learn the basic structure, you just go on in pattern until you are satisfied with the size of the shawl or run out of yarn.

This pattern is great for showing off long gradient yarns and it’s great for traveling, as it requires only one yarn cake.

Feel free to add a border of your choosing (especially if you make the shawl in one color/individual color blocks). I feel like the texture of this shawl is interesting enough without a border, but we are all different. Make it yours and tell your friends about it.

If you want matching tassels and are using a gradient yarn, set aside enough yarn to make a tassel in the first color (the other two points are made with the final color).

Easy read
The easy read version respects the following requirements:

black text, white background;

no columns;
page numbers bottom left;
no charts required to make the pattern;
all abbreviations explained in the list.
