I wanted to make a blanket that was delicate enough to wrap a baby in as soon as they are born. Something that would look beautiful to bring the baby home in or to wrap them in whilst they sleep in the pram or cot.

This blanket has a delicate ‘dot’ stitch which gives the effect of lace without having lots of holes that tiny fingers and toes can get stuck in.

The middle is knitted first with the top lace edge being worked with the live stitches. The bottom and side edgings are picked up and knitted at the end.

It is one size and takes approx 200g of 4ply baby yarn.

The pattern includes a schematic as well as charted and written instructions. It has also been tech edited and test knitted.
