Simple cardigan with a raglan sleeve and clean, modern tapered fit designed for handspun yarn.

Using a seamless construction worked bottom up, this garment has a tapering to the waist for a contemporary fit. The body is knitted in one piece. The sleeves are knitted in the round. The sleeves and body are assembled and the raglan knitted on in one piece. The button holes and a neat I-chord edge are knitted as the garment is worked.

The handspun yarn for this design was inspired by the shallow seas of the North Norfolk Coast. Spun during Spinzilla 2016* using Spindrift by John Arbon Textiles in glorious shifting ocean blues and a beautiful grey mule fleece I had stashed away that summer creating a subtle marled 2-ply yarn in shifting blues and grey tones of the coast at Blakeney in 12-14WPI (DK weight yarn).
