The Blink Mitts are a staple
Winter accessory without any fuss.

These were designed purely out of necessity. I needed something to wear on chilly mornings in the studio while maintaining full finger function.

These are knit in the round without any shaping- The wrist portion is knit in a twisted rib before the hand portion is worked in stockinette.

The hand portion is knit partially flat to create the thumb opening, before being connected back in the round to work until reaching the final length.

After knitting, I went back in with a contrasting yarn and added eyes to the palms using Duplicate Stitch

The hand portion of the mitt is prime real estate to add any design! It would look great monogrammed or with a vintage cross stitch motif.

You need about 100 Yards of fingering weight yarn- You can also use Sport Weight/ DK weight yarn for this pattern as its very forgiving.

Great project to use up scrap yarn, or a single skien from your stash.
