This crocheted messy bun beanie features the humble double crochet stitch, with consistent blips of single crochet for added texture and sophistication. Make it in a solid color, or use a contrast color in the single crochet rounds for a fun look!

This hat is sized for toddlers to adult women, ranging from a 16”-22” head circumference, divided into 5 sizes. It reads XS (S, M, L, XL). The finished measurements are 16 (18, 20, 21, 22)” in circumference, and will typically fit 2-4 (4-10, 10-13, 13+, 16+) year olds. The largest size is larger than the average adult woman’s head, but would be more comfortable for those with thick or curly hair.

Gauge is measured by using the body stitch pattern with larger hook-not just double crochet rows.
