Bliss Shawl
This shawl is a lovely balance of restful knitting, with a large swath of garter stitch, and active attention required knitting for the patterned edge.
The pattern begins at a point and increases on every right side row through the patterned edge, incorporating the details as it get wider.
Once the edge is established it is worked in a large repeating chart alongside the garter stitch.
There are two size options
Small: 780yds, 62” wide, 30” at the deepest point (sage green)
Large: 1040yds, 75” wide, 35” at the deepest point (pink)
Both are pictured here on myself, around my shoulders above the bust I measure 41”.
The yardage of the shawl is not exact. I wanted to give two size options, but feel free to make it any size in between the two yardages listed, the instructions are written to accommodate variation.
Gauge isn’t too important, what you are mostly looking for is a fabric with some drape, you don’t want it to be too dense.
The pattern includes both written and charted instructions.
