To me, bliss is knowing how to appreciate what we already have--including the norm, even the seemingly mundane, in the midst of the chaos that life tends to throw at us. In celebration of this, Blissful is an asymmetrical stockinette shawl graced by elegant columns of leaves, representing the beauty and joy brought to our lives by the simple everyday.

The shawl is worked with a slight bias from one tip to one long (side) edge, with the wingspan being the right edge of the work. This construction allows you to keep knitting until your desired size. Thus, the shawl is very customizable and will work with almost any yarn; adjust yardage and needle size accordingly.

The pink sample shown has ten repeats of Body Part 2 and used 460 yds of yarn on size 4 needles, with a wingspan of 52”.

Approximately 400-500 yds of sport or worsted weight yarn with size 6-8 needles will produce a shawl of similar size to that shown in Fingering Silky Merino, The yellow sample has a wingspan of 56” and used 500 yds Sundara Aran Silky Merino with size 7 needles.

Skill level: Advanced beginner. Written instructions are used, with a chart of the leaves included for reference.
