This pattern is one that fits the average adult and even children around age 9 and up. It is snug to the ears and stays on your head when you put your head back to look up into the sky. It also has a roomy top for curly hair.

Super bulky yarn can be bought with the yarn size on the label saying “super bulky” or you can make your own super bulky yarn by using three shades of worsted weight holding the three strands together and knit at the same time. Sometimes I add one strand of worsted to a bulky weight to get the same weight and a different effect. Using a bulky weight alone using this pattern will yield a nice, thinner, slightly smaller hat. It’s fun to experiment to see what happens with the different yarns and it is such quick project that it doesn’t have high risk with your time and supplies. You can always find someone to wear your hats, even if they aren’t the size you want for yourself.

This pattern is easy and after you make a few you won’t even need to look at the directions! That’s my kind of project!
