Block Party Blanket
Inspiration
I wanted to design a blanket that was bold and fun but easy to make. Tapestry crochet is the perfect technique to create these bold blocks of colour in a chessboard style. This method is an easy technique to master and gives a clean finish to each square.
Yarn
Scheepjes Colour Crafter DK, 100% acrylic, 100g/300m
Col. A Delft (1117) x 4 balls
Col. B Gent (2002) x 3 balls
Col. C Zwolle (1082) x 2 balls
Col. D Terneuzen (1821) x 1 ball
You will need approx. 3000m of DK yarn
About the pattern
- Clearly written, simple instructions in English.
- UK & US crochet terms available
- The pattern uses very simple crochet stitches.
- This pattern is printer friendly if you want the written instructions only.
- Full list of abbreviations listed
- A short explanation is given on the colour changing method for the Tapestry crochet technique but if you have not used tried this method before, I advise watching some tutorials first, as this is not included in the pattern.
- Colours are carried with each round so there won’t be lots of ends to sew in.
- The blanket is designed as a rectangle but it can easily be adapted into a square.
