Block Weave
When searching for slip-stitch patterns to feature in my article, I came across this one and fell in love with it. It very much looks like weaving from a distance. The structure of the stitch pattern requires the fabric to be knit flat, so the body of the hat is knit flat and seamed, with the crown worked in the round. The written directions and the chart might look intimidating, but you get the hang of the stitch pattern pretty quickly once you have worked a block or two. The hat is written for a short beanie-style fit; lengthen the body of the hat if a longer hat is desired.
