Bloom Top & Dress
Say hi to your new favorite summer make - the Bloom Top! This piece is versatile and can easily be extended to a dress. The top has a slightly cropped, boxy fit with a v-neck front and back. It is made up of a bunch of lacy flowers that are all crocheted individually and joined as you go (no seaming - yay!). It’s dreamy, romantic, and SO lightweight! It’s perfect as a summer top, layering in the fall / winter, or as a coverup at the beach.
The piece has ample stretch, so it’s easy to size. By the time I finished my dress, I was 6 months pregnant and the size medium easily fit over my baby bump! The pattern itself is written for the top, but a formula is given to calculate the additional yardage needed to make a dress version. A quick bonus pattern is given at the end to make a little matching flower bandana!
Skill level: confident beginner / intermediate - It’s an easy-to-make pattern, but it’s may be a marathon project for a beginner!
