These little shorts knit up quickly, and though they’re done in stockinette, the increases every 4 rows keep it interesting. They’re worked top down in the round, then split in two and worked back in forth to create the front and back. The crotch is grafted using Kitchener stitch. Stitches are picked up around the leg holes to work the edging.

The pattern will create a size smallish medium (29” waist and 39” hip).

You’ll need US 6 and US 4 24” circular needles, some elastic thread, and a tapestry needle. I used about 115 g of single-ply fingering weight wool.

I didn’t include a lot of details about how to sew in the elastic thread at the waistband, but there’s a lot of great youtube videos that will show you how.
