Don’t have a baby to knit for? See the Got Your Back Wrap

When my kids were young, I would look for every convenience that would get us out the door a little easier. Looking like we had our act together was an unlikely but added bonus. A reversible baby blanket would have helped.

The Blooming Baby Blanket will throw a bit of spring sunshine on your baby’s stroller or play area. Created with Fusion Knitting, this blanket has super squishy double thick cables and is fully reversible.

The petals grow out from the center allowing you to become familiar with the modified in-the-round technique before any cabling begins.

The size and weight of the blanket is adjustable by changing the gauge. DK weight yarn will make a 30 inch/ 76 cm blanket. Worsted weight will make a 36 inch/ 90 cm blanket.

Finished Size: 30 inch/ 76 cm
Yarn: 400 yd/ 385 m of DK weight yarn in each of 2 colours
Recommended Yarn: Miss Babs Yowza Spicy Papaya & Dark Cassiopeia; 1 skein each
Needles: 4.5 mm/ US #7 circular needle
Sample Gauge: 18 st and 36 Rows to 4 in/ 10 cm in purlwise garter worked flat

Worsted Weight Version: several beautiful blankets have been made in worsted weight. This can be made with 2 skeins (210 yd skeins) each of 2 colours but yardage is tight; do not work in a loose gauge or you will run out of yarn.
