This stash-friendly crochet scarf pattern is designed to utilize leftover fingering weight yarn. The blanket scarf crochet pattern is enjoyable to work on due to the variety of stitches involved.

Scarf Size
Cotton yarn: 70 x 15 inches (175 x 38 cm).
Merino yarn: 85 x 12.6 inches (216 x 32 cm).

Gauge
Cotton yarn: 29 dc x 12 rows = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm).
Merino yarn: 24 dc x 14 rows = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm).

Skills level: Intermediate

Yarn: If you want to follow the original color scheme, you need to 100% mercerized cotton 4ply yarn (super fine/fingering), 1.76 oz / 50 g and 185 yds / 169 m in skein, colors: ecru, light blue, blue, dark blue, red, light red, green, light green, orange, yellow, light yellow, mint

OR

100% Superwash Ultrafine Merino 3 ply yarn by Urth Yarn, 1.76 oz / 50 g and 220 yds / 200 m in skein, colors: blue BL 80, jeans BL 40, red O 20, gray N 70, ivory N 100, brown BR 40, plum P 20, light purple P 40, caramel O 40, green G 90, yellow Y 10, turquoise Bl 100; 12 skeins at all.

You can use any combination of colors, the scarf will be made in a mirror image from the starting chain so it’s important to have enough of each color to do rows on both sides.

Hook: 2.5 mm

Stitches used: slip stitch, surface slip stitch, chain, single crochet, back post single crochet, spike single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, front post double crochet, back post double crochet, treble crochet, back post treble crochet, front post treble crochet, picot, puff, flat X-stitch, some complex stitches based on these.
