It’s easy to feel a little bit intimidated by working with mohair and eyelash yarn if you don’t know the techniques that make it a lot easier. This pattern gives detailed, step by step instructions telling you how to crochet a kitty cat from mohair or other fuzzy yarn using a size 5 crochet hook (1.9mm). The cat is about 5.5 inches tall when made from Katia Ingenua, a worsted weight mohair yarn. You can vary the look of your cat by using different yarn. The gray cat in the photos was crocheted from one strand of punch thread (available from www.tedsfromthreads.com, as are eyes, thread, tiny buttons, etc.) and one strand of Kid Merino lace-weight yarn held together; she is just slightly smaller in height.

The pattern is clearly written, with a great deal of detail. It includes instructions for jointing all four limbs and the head with cotter pins and disks. For those who prefer the look of thread-jointed limbs, I’ve also included detailed instructions on how to thread-joint the arms and legs.

You’ll find that this pattern also includes instructions to crochet the cute little dress that the kittens are wearing. The dress is crocheted with size 10 crochet thread and a size 5 hook (1.9mm).

The pattern has 18 pages of photos and instructions, including a list of abbreviations, internet sources of supply, and a crochet thread comparison chart. Several color photos are also included.
