A simple but colourful baby blanket with a blossom motif worked into the decorative edging. This pattern would work just as well in monochrome or a colour changing gradient yarn. UK crochet terms used throughout

One Size. Finished measurements (including attached blossom edging) 70 x 50cm.

Gauge: 24 sts and 9 rows per 10cm square in wave pattern.

Skill level: Medium. Techniques used are chain, slip stitch, double crochet, treble crochet, skipping spaces, increases and decreases, working into a crochet ring, changing colours.

Tools needed: 3mm crochet hook. Stitch marker, wool needle, snips/small scissors.

Yarn used: 1 x 140g set Folkestone Harbour Yarn ‘Pastel Rainbow’ sock yarn mini skein set. 7 x 20g/85m mini skeins of 75% superwash merino/25% nylon sock weight yarn in colours Lemon, Peach, Pink, Lilac, Baby Blue, Aqua & Green.
1 x 20g undyed Folkestone Harbour Yarn sock yarn mini skein 20g/85m of 75% superwash merino/25% nylon.

Yarn Substitutes: 160g/680m of any 4ply/sock weight yarn with an approximate length to weight equivalent of 400m per 100g.

Note: machine washable yarns are best for baby items.
