Blue Dandelion was imagined from the interplay of semi-solid hand-dyed yarn next to a short repeat gradient or speckled hand-dyed yarn. I enjoy supporting independent dyers and this pattern is perfect for trying out a new yarn/dyer. Blue Dandelion is reminiscent of yellow dandelions against a deep blue sky. Luxury yarns make this a great next-to-the-neck pattern. This cowl uses less than 50 grams of each color so this is a pretty and affordable accessory.

SIZE
Blue Dandelion is one size. The sample size was 11.5 in (29 cm), 23 in (58.4 cm) circumference, and 7 in (17.5 cm) tall, after blocking. Gauge is not critical but you may use more yarn or have a larger cowl if using a different gauge.

YARN
Any fingering weight (4 ply) yarn will work where one skein is a solid or semi-solid and the other is a short repeating gradient or speckled yarn.

The sample was knit using the following yarns:

Color A: Rohrspatz & Wollmeise DK (100% Merino, 468 yards (426 meters) / 200 grams). Colorway is “I’m a Rolling Stone No. 10.” 38 grams used.
Color B: The Lemonade Shop (75% SW Merino, 25% Nylon/Polyamide, 463 yards (423 meters) / 100 grams). Colorway is “Art Crawl.” 13 grams used.

NEEDLES
Size US 6 (4 mm) 16” (41 cm) circular or as required to meet gauge.

SKILLS
I cord cast on and cast off, knitting in the round, slipping stitches, knit and purl.
Blue Dandelion is appropriate for the advanced beginner.
