Blue in Green
This intriguing standard, with its 10-bar circular structure and unresolved modal progression, is closely associated with Bill Evans in whose repertoire it remained central throughout his career. In the words of critic, Ted Gioia: “in the right setting with listeners who are willing to participate in a collective meditation, this work can be a springboard for an experience that almost transcends jazz.”

Yarn
A Studio Donegal Soft Donegal in Teal (shade 5528) (100% wool; 190m / 207yds per 100g skein) held together with Drops Kidsilk (75% mohair; 25% silk; 210m / 230yds per 25g skein) in Jeans Blue (shade 27): 5 (6, 7) skeins of each
B Small amount (<50g) of aran weight yarn in a contrasting (or complementary) shade for pocket and neck linings
Check sizing table for garment dimensions. If you wish to add length to body or sleeves, you may need an extra skein of yarn.

Needles and Notions
Gauge-size and below gauge-size circular needles of appropriate lengths for working body, yoke, and neckline
Spare needle cord for holding body stitches
Spare needle cords or waste yarn for holding pocket stitches
Gauge-size and below gauge-size needle(s) of your preferred type for working small circumferences
Waste yarn for holding stitches

Gauge
16 sts and 12 rounds to 10cm / 4in over stockinette (in the round and back and forth) using gauge-size needle. Use 5.5mm needle as a starting point for swatching.
Note that if your gauge has a tendency to draw in over small circumferences, you may need to go up a needle size for sleeves.

Pattern notes
This cosy pullover is knitted top-down. The shoulder piece is cast on, shaped with short rows, and the back is worked to the underarms. The right and left fronts are then picked up from the shoulders and worked separately, before being joined at the neck. The upper front is worked to the same length as the back, before the sweater is joined at the underarms for working in the round. Stitches are set aside for two front pockets, while twisted rib completes the hem. Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round from the top down; the ribbed neckline is finished with a lining in contrasting yarn, and finally two pocket linings are knitted-in while the pocket edges are finished neatly with an i-cord.
