The small is suitable for 1 skein of fingering weight yarn, using approximately 325 yards. The large uses 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn and requires approximately 625 yards.

Both sizes feature a small repeating butterfly lace pattern on the body of the shawl. The larger shawl also has a wide butterfly lace motif on the bottom border, presented in charted form. Both shawls have a eyelet and picot border at the bottom edge.
