Since Fair Isle techniques are featured in August-October 2013 issue, I thought I would use some of the leftover yarn from the Summer Nights on the North Fork of the Duschene River sweater to work a pair of socks. If you do a lot of Fair Isle knitting you can build up quite a stash of leftover yarn. The Redfish Dyeworks yarn I used for the sweater is ideal for socks. Even if you use sock yarn, stranded socks can be quite thick which is great for winter in cold climates. This lace weight yarn produces socks which can easily be worn with shoes.
