Blue Waves Scarf is a fast knit scarf with a 16 row pattern repeat with two columns of alternating cables.

The pattern is created using worsted weight yarn held double with a strand of lace silk/mohair for added softness and warmth. Pattern could be made with or without the mohair and is flexible for a bulkier weight yarn.

This is the year of the scarf for me. I decided to make scarves for all of my close colleagues at work, each with a unique design and yarn tailored to the individual. This project will result in over a dozen scarves and cowls this year. I have been using patterns through Ravelry, but after making nine scarves I was running out of patterns that met my needs, so I decided to make my own. I was looking for a simple scarf pattern that would knit up fast yet have enough detail to keep it interesting. Additionally, I wanted to incorporate a trend I see in many Danish patterns to incorporate a strand of silk mohair for warmth, softness, and fluffiness.
