This baby cardigan is knit in one piece from the top down in a classic raglan design, using short rows (wrap and turn method) to shape the neckline. Sleeves are worked in the round. No seaming required! The textured pattern on the body is made up of knits and purls, with adaptations to fit each size.

Newborn: Yarn A=100m, Yarn B=145m, Yarn C=125m
0-3m: Yarn A=120m, Yarn B=170m, Yarn C=150m
3-6m: Yarn A=125m, Yarn B=210m, Yarn C=170m
6-9m: Yarn A=140m, Yarn B=245m, Yarn C=200m
9-12m: Yarn A=180m, Yarn B=235m, Yarn C=230m
12-18m: Yarn A=185m, Yarn B=290m, Yarn C=255m

This pattern is worked with 4ply yarn held double, allowing for two different colours to be held together in some sections. 4Ply held double can be substituted with a single strand of DK (but test your gauge) if you desire; although of course this will restrict you to working with a single colour at a time.

Row count and buttonhole rows are included in the pattern.

If your gauge swatch is slightly smaller or larger the cardigan will still turn out fine in terms of proportions (as long as your gauge swatch is square), but the overall size will be affected.
