I used a 4mm crochet hook and around 375g of Cotton 4 eco vita by DMC.
You can also use another yarn, this is only my suggestion and what I used for my pattern but feel free to try this pattern with other yarn combinations.

The bag measured at the end is 29cm for the length and 27cm for the height (measured at the edges so count a little more for the height where the handle is)
