Description from book:
Chunky bobbles create a fun knitted fabric for this classically shaped handbag. Knit it up using extra-bulky-weight yarn and big needles.

Gauge:
3 bobbles = 4.5” (11.5cm) over bobble pattern

Also Needed:

  • One .75” (2cm) magnetic snap
  • .5 yard (.5m) of medium weight cotton lining fabric, sewing - needle and thread to match
  • One sheet of 7 mesh plastic needlepoint
  • 3” x 7” (7.5cm x 17.5cm) piece of heavy-weight cardboard

Designer Sima Brason says:

“This bag was knit from my heart. It represented a quilted bag my grandmother gave me when I was 8. The shape reminds me of the evening bags my mother used to carry on her way to see the Philadelphia Orchestra or an opera or ballet.

“It is knit in two pieces with a stst on either end of the body of the purse so that there is enough flat material to seam before you add a closure of either a zipper, snap(s), etc.

“I thank the design team at SoHo publishing along with Shirley Paden.”
