This pattern grew out of my love for knitting bonnets.

It’s an easy design although the bobbles do take time.

It’s knitted flat with ribbing for a snug fit. No seaming necessary as you use DPNs for the crown and pick up stitches for the neck. You can opt for i-cords, a ribbon for the tie or knit a strap.

The merino yarn is perfectly soft for a baby but I also love the small fuzz from an additional alpaca merino mix.
