Bobble Pie Pot Holder
Never risk ruining your counter or table with a hot pan or pot and instead use this extra thick, super cute Pie Hot-Pad! Make a traditional Cherry or Blueberry with some red or blue…. or go wild and make an ultimate berry pie with any color of your choosing. This pattern is perfect to add a little sweetness to your kitchen or dining room table setting; or even add some fun to a friendly pot-luck!
This pattern is recommended for an “Adventurous Beginner” due to the use of the Bobble Stitch. On that note, I have included a step by step photo tutorial for working this stitch, and all other stitches in this pattern are extremely beginner friendly. The assembly process entails crocheting all of the pieces together, rather than sewing all of those lattice pieces on (because let’s be honest, the less sewing the better!).
RECOMMENDED MATERIALS:
- Worsted Weight (WW) #4 COTTON Yarn - it is EXTREMELY important to use cotton yarn for this project; especially if it will be used for functionality and not simply decoration. Cotton yarn is able to absorb heat unlike acrylic yarns which can melt when they come in contact with high heat.
- Colors: Pie Crust Color (Light Tan recommended - approximately 100 yards); Pie “Filling” color of choice (Red, Blue, Etc… - approximately 90 yards needed)
- 4.5mm crochet hook (I use Clover Amor)
- Scissors
- Stitch Markers
- Yarn Needle for weaving in ends
Using the recommended tools and materials, the finished piece will measure approximately 8.25 inches across. Changes in tension, yarn brand/type used, hook size used may result in a finished piece of a slightly different size.
